Edit: Sorry for the text issues and some buggy sound, I'll fix them soon!

For Gamedev.tv's gamejam.   My first game jam  actually...

This is just a proof of concept! (A trimmed-down version at that...)
You are most likely going to find some bugs.   I'll hope to fix them but I'm so exhausted after today, it's been a real rush. I almost thought I wasn't going to get it in on time.
I really wanted it to be better than this, but I just didn't have the time (or skill) to really flesh it out fast enough.  I had to remove a bunch of the planned features  in order to meet the jam's deadline - believe it or not but it was getting pretty complex .  Really sad, but at least it is workable and you can win and lose in it.  But oh well, I can always update it as time goes on, right?  I had a lot of fun working on the project and learned a thing or two through it!  All I can say is I tried my current best, and will hopefully do better in any future jams I do.

HOW TO PLAY.
The aim of the game is to get back home, but first you have to find it.
Point and click to where you'd like to go and the ship will move in that direction. But watch out, in this darkness it's like a minefield out there!
Send out probes (SPACE) and use your scanner (SHIFT) to help you scour the map for dangerous zones - one of them happens to be your home!  Listen for any feedback the probes send by scanning them,. If you hear noise then you can be sure a zone is within its vicinity.  Keep an eye on your scanner's colour as well!
If a probe lands directly in a danger zone, it'll begin to noticeably flare up, scan it for a few seconds and you'll deactivate the zone and score some points for the end score (the numbers are based on what was the zone's power value).

I had some help from a friend with brainstorming the ideas and writing up the game design doc but otherwise I worked on my own.  o_o ''
